A big reason why I decided to make this blog was to provide a place for quick updates with progress on the game. There are a few good things about this. Most obviously, it’s a good way to keep track of progress. You guys can keep up with the small victories (or setbacks) on a day-to-day basis, but I can also look back to this blog to find out how long certain parts of the project took me.
It’s also very motivating. Even if I’m not publicizing this blog at the moment, knowing that one day people might come back to see whether or not I was slacking is another good incentive to working hard on the regular.
The last thing is that once I go to Kickstarter, I would like to be able to point back to this blog as an example of how I’ll do backer updates. Transparency is one of the things I value most, and this is my way of proving that.
Anyway, don’t expect too much in-depth information in these quick updates. More in-depth stuff will go under the Progress Reports tag.
As for what I’ve done today, there’s still plenty of daylight, but I did just wrap up the RunTurn animation. Yesterday I finished the RunStop animation, and this afternoon I’m going to start working on the jumping animations.
